AI is transforming the way we work. But dentistry still needs a human touch. And even while robotics continues to advance, I believe patients will still prefer a person treating inside their mouth.

My connection to dentistry started from a young age. Growing up, my parents made sure I had regular checkups and it turned out to be a good thing as I needed 12 extra teeth removed, which meant surgery, orthodontics, follow-up visits and a habit of going to the dentist that I've stuck with until today.

I owe my “million-dollar smile” (as my mum calls it) to some amazing dentists and surgeons at King's College, London. Thanks to their skill and my mum’s insistence on every appointment, I still have a full, healthy set of teeth today.

Now, as a dad, I try to pass that same commitment to regular dental care on to my kids.

But beyond my personal story, I chose dentistry because it’s filled with highly skilled professionals running small businesses who have a desire to succeed and whose work has a big impact on the lives of others.
